Why We Started Mauka Warriors Luau
We saw the need for a true cultural experience on the island—one that could honor and celebrate forgotten Hawaiian history while educating our community.
We have since developed Mauka Warriors Luau as a unique and special way to partake in Oceana’s food, traditions, and customs. Guests find that our dinner show’s educational, historical, and family-oriented aspects are markedly different from the commercialized luaus offered throughout the island.
As proud Polynesians, we saw an opportunity to honor all of our heritage while still embracing the Spirit of Aloha. Our goal was not just to create another entertaining night under the stars, but a deeply immersive experience into the heart of Polynesian culture.

Mauka Warriors Luau isn’t just a performance and buffet. Our guests can participate in interactive activities, including hula lessons, temporary cultural tattoos, headband weaving, and kava tasting to immerse themselves in the culture.

Our interactive Oahu Luau is held near the hollowed ground of the Battle of Kipapa, a significant historical location for both Polynesians and military veterans. We also bless each guest with a Hawaiian lei and use an outdoor umu kitchen, just like our ancestors did.
